Taste and Glory: Reviews & Ratings
Pretty good food and service. Wait was of about 15minutes for 2 people on a Saturday. Expensive but what isn’t around these parts? Definitely worth the visit. 4 stars because the silverware was dirty and we had to ask for new ones. Also, they offer those small little creamers but if you ask they do have real milk.
I had brunch at Taste and Glory in San Mateo, and it was a great experience. The service was friendly and attentive, and our meals were absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it perfect for a relaxed weekend brunch. I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!
It was a beautiful Monday morning. With time to spare, I headed to Taste and Glory for a fun little brunch vibe before class. My partner and I ordered the Blue Butterfly Lychee drink, the Thai Tea French Toast and the Tom Yum scramble. I thought everything tasted fantastic. The drink came out first, and though it was really strong in flavor, after diluting it a bit, it was perfect. It was also a lot more purple than blue but that didn’t take away from flavor. The Thai Tea French Toast’s Thai Tea sauce was perfect. It had a really strong Thai Tea flavor and the texture of the french toast was nice and soft/fluffy. However they did garnish with a piece of parsley, which I absolutely despise (like fr, why garnish a sweet dish with a very savory herb instead of something like mint). Anyways, the Tom Yum scramble was really great as well. For $30 I was scared that it wouldn’t be worth it, but the portion is actually really large and there is so much crab in it, I see why it is priced that way. Overall, I really enjoyed every aspect of this place. From the food to the ambiance and the service, everything was great and I can see why this place is so hyped/crowded. Update: Taste and Glory is hands down one of my favorite brunch places in the bay area. This time around, my partner and I ordered a more basic omelet as well as the crab cake eggs benedict and the thai tea. Both of the food items were delicious and cooked really well. They are plated well and really feel complete. In addition, the drinks are always so good here and have so much flavor. The thai tea was actually very tea forward and not too creamy. Food here and service here are both 10/10. I really appreciate all of their attention to detail here.
I am usually not a brunch person, but I made an exception for Taste & Glory and was not disappointed. I tried their vegan breakfast and it was surprisingly flavorful and satisfying. the pancakes are a must. The homemade fruit spread with the pancakes is yumm ! My family ordered the huevos rancheros, fried chicken with eggs Benedict, and steak, and everything was delicious. The flavors really stand out. It gets busy on weekends and they don’t take reservations, so plan accordingly. Their drinks are also worth trying, very unique and well crafted. Service is friendly, though it’s more of an efficient, lively spot than a place to linger for long conversations.
Popular Asian-American fusion brunch restaurant in San Mateo, known for its creative and unique dishes. The interior is bright, clean, and welcoming. Wait times can vary, and you’ll likely have to wait during peak hours unless you visit right when they open. The menu is fairly extensive, but the choices are well balanced and not overwhelming. We ordered the chicken croffle, berries pancake, crab cake Benedict, and tom yum scramble, along with Thai iced tea, coffee, and lemonade. Despite the restaurant being at full capacity, our food arrived pretty quickly. The dishes were unique, and delicious. Presentation also good. Service was friendly and efficient throughout the visit. Price-wise, it’s on the higher side, but the quality and creativity of the food make it worthwhile. My advice is to come early to avoid long wait times and enjoy a smoother dining experience.
My friend and I visited for brunch around 11:20am on a Sunday. We did have to wait in a line outside but were let in after less than 10 mins. I ordered the crispy honey chicken benedict and an iced ube and my friend ordered the carbonara udon and an iced tea. They were able to accomodate changing the poached egg on the udon to a scrambled egg for my friend. The food was delicious and I especially loved the crispy chicken with the hollandaise sauce. The ube drink with the whipped cream and sprinkles was unfortunately too sweet for my tastes. My friend also the uniqueness of her udon. Staff were also friendly and checked in on us multiple times.
Super lovely place! Had a nice laugh admiring some of the collected Cry baby dolls, and nicely decorated It’s a fun fusion restaurant/brunch, although it does get pretty crowded. I’m sure long lines form here, but I went at a good time and got a seat fairly quickly (less than 6 mins) Would definitely come again, even if a little on the pricey side (I ordered the Dungeness omelette, behind is the Thai French toast bread, super sweet and good, and I forgot what the other 2 plates were)
Amazing Asian Fusion Brunch in San Mateo! Location: Located on El Camino Real near Hobart Ave (12th Ave), right across from a strip of apartments. There’s street parking out front and additional parking in the rear. They’ve set up a small black extendable divider outside for busy hours — since there’s not much room to wait once you step inside. If you see a line, you’ll need to wait outside until it’s your turn. It’s first come, first serve, and the whole party must be present before being seated. ⸻ Visit Experience: A friend from the Bay Area recommended this spot, so we came on a Saturday morning for brunch before heading out on a Napa winery trip. When we arrived, there was already a line of people waiting! It looks like they might have two connected dining areas, but it still gets packed quickly. ⸻ Service: The staff and servers were super friendly and helpful. Service speed was impressive — our food arrived in under 5 minutes even though the restaurant was full! ⸻ What We Ordered: • Chicken Croffle – Hands down one of the best chicken & waffle (croffle) dishes I’ve ever had — even better than the famous Poppy + Rose in LA! The sauce that came with it was incredibly good (wish I knew what it was!). • Tom Yum Scramble – A croissant filled with Dungeness crab, mushrooms, and potatoes, all flavored with a Tom Yum twist. Such a creative and tasty fusion combo. • Ribeye Steak with Eggs – Simple but solid! The steak was tender, flavorful, and pre-cut, making it easy to enjoy. I’ve also heard that their Crème Brûlée French Toast is a must-try next time! ⸻ ⭐ Overall: A top-notch, highly recommended brunch spot for anyone visiting or living in the Bay Area. Perfect for a chill weekend brunch with friends or loved ones — great food, friendly staff, and quick service all around.
